Why Starting A Podcast Isn’t As Hard As You Think

You hear the word ‘podcast’ and immediately big microphones, a mixer, and an engineer pressing a lot of buttons come to mind. However, starting a podcast is much simpler than you think, and it can be very cost-effective. It is a great way for any business to get its name out there and become a leader in its industry.  Starting Can Seem like an overwhelming task, but we are here to help and show you it is not as hard as you think.

Equipment

First thing’s first. Do you have the tools needed to produce a podcast? You need a good cost-effective microphone, headphones and user-friendly recording and editing software.  There are a lot of great podcast recording kits out there for any budget.  These typically include microphones, headphones, and an interface. Price-wise they can range from $150 to $1,000 depending on what you are looking for.

Plan

Now it’s time to name your podcast, pick your niche topic, and find guests. Having a template to run your show by is always a good idea. Don’t spend so much time planning your podcast that you end up not making one.

Upload

Choose a host or two to upload your podcast to. There are a lot of options out there and each of them offers different upload options and features.  A few things you want to look for is the ability to add advertisers, where your podcast can be found (Apple Podcast, Spotify, Google Podcast), and ownership of your show. Ensure that you promote your premiere and voila! You’ve successfully started your podcast.
